The Capitol Building
Last Tuesday my girls were at school and just like elementary children all around our country they were watching the inauguration. This was not because of who was being inaugurated but rather because our country was inaugurating a new President. In the course of the inauguration their teacher was talking about the different buildings and areas that they were showing. She talked about the Lincoln Memorial, the White House, The Washington Monument, and the Capitol Building. Afterwards she asked if there were any questions. My Arianwyn raised her hand and in perfect kindergarten fashion asked:
"WHERE'S THE LOWER CASE BUILDING?"
Always keep in mind that life is all about perspective.

It is good of children to keep things in perspective for us from time to time.
After Chuck got done reading me your blog I had to come and comment, after I stopped laughing hysterically. I had thought he was going to say your daughter had picked up some political savvy remark from you that she repeated to her teacher. I didn't expect her question, but I love it! It makes perfect sense to me:)
Welcome, Brenda Jean. Make yourself at home. We're all friends here.
Isn't it just wonderful, the way kids think?
:)
That is absolutely adorable..who'd have thought that was going to be the punchline!?
Funny, I feel like the whole of Washington this last week has gone from capital letters to LOWER case........ugh.
hug Arianwyn for me!
Out of the mouths of babes.
Sometimes when I see a photo of the Capitol Building (like just now), I thank God that the heroes of Flight 93 kept the terrorist devils from carrying out their evil deed.
The lower case building?
First, very funny.
Second, teacher should have done a lesson unit on the Crawford Ranch.
Ducky, remember the free advice I gave you over at my blog? Please stop embarassing yourself and put it to use.
Love it!
She's precious, Jason.
Kids see things the simple way.
Kids are truly the greatest gift for our souls. They are absolute magicians at making us look at the world in different ways.
That's about the best question I think I've heard all day!
i second what pinky and edge say.....too precious.
It was a good question! Children are indeed a blessing and joy...and they will give us points to ponder!
G*D bless and MARANATHA!

Oh that is precious. I am so glad you shared it!
Too, precious. I remember when mine were that young. Umteen years ago.

I love that story. Kids have a unique perspective on life. It behooves us all to pay attention.

What a great story!
Leave to a six-year old to ask the most penetrating questions.
