Inauguration Theme Song (sorry Mac)

Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
When you're perfect in every way
I can't wait to look in the mirror
’Cos I get better lookin each day
To know me is to love me
I must be a hell of a man
Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
But I'm doin' the best that I can

I used to have a girlfriend
But I guess she just couldn't compete
With all these love starved women
Who keep clamoring at my feet
Well I probably could find me another
But I guess they're all in awe of me
Who cares I never get lonesome
’Cos I treasure my own company

Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
When you're perfect in every way
I can't wait to look in the mirror
’Cos I get better lookin each day
To know me is to love me
I must be a hell of a man
Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
But I'm doin the best that I can

I guess you could say I am a loner
A cowboy all locked up and proud
Well I could have lots of friends if I wanted
But then I wouldn't stand out in a crowd
Some folks say that I'm egotistical
Hell I don't even know what that means
I guess it has something to do with the way
That I fill out my skin tight blue jeans

Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
When you're perfect in every way
I can't wait to look in the mirror
’Cos I get better lookin each day
To know me is to love me
I must be a hell of a man
Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
But I'm doin the best that I can

  7. Does that mean you're taking the Steelers/Ravens in the Super Bowl?

  8. WOO-HOO!!! Cardinals are going to the Superbowl baby!!!

  9. Yehudi -- I'm for the Cardinals all the way!!!

  10. Ok...I like them too, but since you won last year, you get the first pick. I'll take whoever wins the next game. Hopefully it'll be Pittsburg!

  11. I'm going for Pittsburgh today which will seal your fate. Since Obama will have brought us the redistribute the wealth administration by then his people will make sure that the Cardinals win since the Steelers already won just a few short years ago. If you want any chance of winning our bet at all you had better go for the Ravens as it's been longer since they won the Superbowl. YES WE CAN!!! ;0)

  12. I'm POSITIVE that YOU remember the Steelers last win!!!

  13. Woot! Now the Steelers have to seal the deal.

Wait, are we going to have to be inflicted with hairy guys in party dresses again?

  14. Cube -- don't you mean: "Are we going to have to be inflicted with DANIEL in a party dress again?"

So what's this week's pre-Depression mega-party in DC costing us? More than $150 million. By comparison, George W. Bush's 2005 inauguration cost $42.3 million and Bill Clinton spent $33 million in 1993.

    and please... Steeler's? Pshaw!

  18. Shame on you, FJ. (For the Steelers comment.)

  19. Or maybe a little Sam Cooke

I was born by the river in a little tent
Oh and just like the river I've been running ever since
It's been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will

It's been too hard living but I'm afraid to die
Cause I don't know what's up there beyond the sky
It's been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will

I go to the movie and I go downtown
Somebody keep telling me don't hang around
It's been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will

Then I go to my brother
And I say brother help me please
But he winds up knocking me
    Back down on my knees

    Ohhhhhhhhh.....

There been times that I thought I couldn't last for long
But now I think I'm able to carry on
It's been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change gonna come, oh yes it will

  20. Ducky -- just don't be surprised when Obama is your brother that knocks you (and all of us) back down on our knees. Redistribution has always enslaved and set back and has never helped anyone up or out.

  21. He redistributed 150 million just for his circus party train this week. That's more than 3x more than ANYONE has ever spent and when we are suppose to be headed into a depression. Apparently there is plenty of money for the ruling class. But continue to believe that change is always good. By the way, where is the change anyway?

I'll admit, Yehudi, THAT was one hard-hitting and well fought contest!

No doubt in my mind who's going to prevail at this year's festivus maximus.

Now behave Papa Frank. You can go back to the Wall Street Journal stories about the second Bush inaugural and read their quote of 115 million municipal costs for security and all that and when you add in the 45 million that Bush raised you get 160 million.

I don't expect the right to be particularly concerned about being factual but the facts are there if you wish to do some research.

  24. The entire event cost 46 million duckling. Nice try.
