The Bucket List
Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman star as two terminally ill cancer patients who decide to break out of the hospital and live their last days to the fullest in director Rob Reiner's seriocomic road movie. Edward Cole (Nicholson) is a corporate billionaire who is currently sharing a hospital room with blue-collar mechanic Carter Chambers (Freeman). Though initially the pair seems to have nothing in common, conversation gradually reveals that both men have a long list of goals they wish to accomplish before they kick the bucket, and an unrealized desire to discover what kind of men they really are. But one can't accomplish such lofty objectives from the confines of a hospital bed, so now, in order to live their lives to the absolute fullest, Edward and Carter will have to make a break for it. With a checklist that includes playing the poker tables in Monte Carlo, consuming copious amounts of caviar, racing the fastest machines on four wheels, and much more, these two terminally ill men will do their best to fit a lifetime of experience into their last remaining days while forging an unlikely, but truly remarkable, friendship. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
This looks like quite an entertaining movie to me. Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson are both good actors and seem to be respectable celebrities as well. It ought to be pretty good. That being said, I was wondering what things might be on your bucket list. I'll leave my list here with rights to amend it later.
-- See my children grow up and start life on their own
-- Become a better father to my children and a better husband to my wife
-- Visit Israel and celebrate with God's people in the land he gave to them
-- Walk on the volcanoes of Hawaii
-- Wander around Europe
-- Go back to see more of Africa
-- Hike through the Black Forest in Germany
-- Build a log cabin
-- Hunt an elk
-- Hunt a black bear
-- Attend culinary school

Great and doable list!
I think this movie looks good.
I love the whole idea.
Isn't life grand?!
Great list!
I think I'll watch the flick when it gets to DVD.
Been there. I'll take your top two every time.
i love your list, but I'm so jealous that you've been to Africa. I have always wanted to go to Tsavo and see the elephants. Maybe someday....
"Any moron can make a bad movie. But it takes a special breed of schemer to make a picture as shameless as "The Bucket List."
frank family - do you remember the movie with burt reynolds and dom deluise "the end"? burt thought he was dying and paid dom to kill him and then couldn't call him off?
this will be a movie people see because of the star power and theme - we want to be entertained at the theater, not preached to or propagandized.
perhaps hollywood is finally getting the message, no?
1. i am saul/paul of tarsus and my greatest wish is that ALL my brethren be saved and i be accursed if need be. actually, i would hope that my family loves the Lord more than i.
2. move back to the cabin FOR GOOD!
3. send my son back to his real mother, the queen of england - bwaaaaaaaaahahaha! that's a joke in our family...
4. to eventually see our children in healthy, loving relationships.
5. buy a white mercedes 500sel and paint zebra stripes on it, put a lift kit on, do the entire inside with animal prints, hang fuzzy dice on the rearview mirror, attach a pair of longhorn steer horns on the hood, and finally - install one of those obnoxious horns that plays every imaginable southern tune - then, i would leave the keys in it and just DARE someone to steal it!
6. see my husband and his father partnered in a pro bass tournament and winning.
7. make sure i have all my "in case i die" stuff together.
I'll take your number one and two also
leave it to what's her face to rain on a parade
remember what's her face finds The Bachelor entertaining
Yeah, The Bachelor is just riveting television. I figured she was just lonely. Her blog seems to be a ghost town these days. All she needs is some tumble weeds blowing by to complete the ambiance!
what is "the bachelor"?
anyway.
bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahaha!
no, really.
bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahaha!
No, Frank Family, I meant what I said: greedy Jews. I am many things, but I am not greedy.
Learn to read, sweet pea. :)
Let's give Dora the attention she deserves:

Interesting list.
I'd like to see:
My kids become adults, and find their niches in life;
My grandchildren;
My great-great-grandfather's grave on the Mount of Olives;
My great-grandfather's grave in NYC (I have his name);
Mount St. Helens;
Krakatau;
The original model of the Starship Enterprise;
Learn to fly;
Learn to fly a jet;
Drive a Corvette;
Get a good night's sleep (hey, I have 3 kids under 5!).
I've seen Mount St. Helens. It's amazing how green and beautiful it is. God gave the earth a wonderful way of renewing itself. My wife lived in Oregon when it blew and she remembers it well. She was about 200 miles away but said that the ash came down there just like it was snowing black snow. She was a pilot when I met her. She did her ground school her senior year in high school and was flying cessnas when I met her in college. Amen on the good night's sleep! How is number 3 doing? How did her first shabbat go? I better your temple was overjoyed to see her arrive!
you will see just how relentless some will be...
p.s. madzionist is my friend and we've been so for well over two years. you might really enjoy his site and can link to it from my own.
hi,
being from africa and currently in (UK) makesme realise how small africa is from their perspective (UK). I admire people who admire others who have been to africa. To others africa is full of animals. To some when they go they dont want to come back because life is slow and there is tomorrow and everthing is original. what people dont realise is how great apportunities are in africa. gives a challenge to young men who want to make a difference and cultivate raw ground. if you have slight interest email me on andakamanga@yahoo.co.uk
