The Backyardigans

Does anyone else here get a kick out of some of the television shows that your children watch? One of my favorite shows is called The Backyardigans. This show has very smart humor to it and always features great songs with purposely forced rhymes. It makes for great television and champions imagination as an ideal. In case you've never had a chance to view this show HERE'S WHAT YOU'VE BEEN MISSING!!!

Oh yeah...I know the Backyardigans!
I can hear the theme song at this very moment ringing in my head. It is a cute show! There are some great ones lately...some on PBS, some on Nick Jr, it's good to see the shows pushing literacy, imagination instead of just repeating things (dare I say Dora??) Vaminos! hee hee.

My kids are grown and gone. Alas, I no longer keep up with the kids shows. But I can still whistle the theme music to "Uncle Billy and the Green Forest."

The Wonder Pets and Max and Ruby are favorites around here.

My youngest is insane for Dora, too.

The girls are fans of Dora the Explorer, Diego, Handy Manny, and Little Bill. Oddly enough one of their favorite shows is Man Vs. Wild with Bear Gryllis. Every time he finds some sort of bug or critter they just start laughing and say, "watch daddy, he's gonna eat it!"

Oh, I love Max and Ruby!
Ok, what Dora is Nanc talking about?
Little Bill is sweet, too.

We bought the Golden Collection of Bugs Bunny and Friends a few years ago...they beat all...
