Article II of the Constitution gives the President power to nominate justices, who are then appointed "by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate." As a general rule, Presidents nominate individuals who broadly share their ideological views. Because the Constitution does not set forth any qualifications for service as a Justice, the President may nominate anyone to serve. However, that person must receive the confirmation of the Senate, meaning that a majority of that body must find that person to be a suitable candidate for a lifetime appointment on the nation's highest court.
Could this be the deal that Barack made with Hillary in order to get her and Bill to fall into rank and begin supporting not only him but vigorously campaigning for a Democrat majority in the House and Senate? Hill and Bill have been pimping themselves to the Obama thugocracy in a big way the last couple of weeks although we are well aware of the mutual disdain and resentment they have for Barack. Imagine Hillary being a SCOTUS for the rest of her natural life!!! Get out and fight people. Don't only fight against Obama but fight every single Democrat in your state and do not let them get a veto-proof advantage.

There's been rumors that this was her price.
r u serious?
ugh.
Entirely plausible. The Clinton's do nothing without a quid pro quo.
They have been for sale for decades...don't be surprised.
Good morning, G*D bless and MARANATHA!
tmw
...of course, he could always nominate Barney Frank to the job... or Bill himself!
It will be interesting to see exactly where she lands. Absolutely nowhere when McCain is elected!!
We need someone to take over the role of leading the progressive wing of the party and forming coalitions now that Ted Kennedy is dying.
I hope Hillary takes that on.
There are plenty of potential supreme court justices that will scare the far right silly but Kennedy's function is harder to fill.
What? You've run out of drunk irresponsible elitists that step on and drown women to save themselves? Say it ain't so, Ducky!!!
It is so, papa. He has been a flawed human being to be sure but he has done a lot for this country and has been a real force for compromise in the Senate.
I do not expect you to bother to look at his total record but he will be missed. It's simply too easy to just cast the first stone, right?
Hillary would be much more valuable in his role than on the court.
I hate to say this, but I believe Ducky's right. I HATE the plans the Left has for this country, but I'll defend to my death their right to champion it. Damn.
Hillary would be wasted on the SCOTUS, in my opinion. Kind of redundant..it's not 'big' enough for her. I can't stand the woman but I admire her spunk and I think she's intelligent and she'd be a perfect replacement for Ted Kennedy.
Pops...my Sunday blog isn't complete without you. Everything okay at the Franks? I hope so!!
So now getting away with murdering a woman to save your own reputation simply makes one a "flawed human being"?
Damn, it must be nice to be a Democrat... You get to get away with anything.
Ducky's right, though. If Hillary doesn't take SCOTUS, she'll replace that pickled Kennedy.
I have a better idea, let's just punch the living daylights out of any leftist who tries approaching us to vote for Obama this year....four years ago I body slammed a libtard who came running up to me sporting a John Kerry sign.
We need someone to take over the role of leading the progressive wing of the party and forming coalitions now that Ted Kennedy is dying.
You make it sound as if you're feeling sorry for kennedy.
I feel bad for the poor brain tumor.
Steve!
I don't know where I'd rather see Hillary. She doesn't seem qualified to be on the SCOTUS. I'd rather see her than Barbera Boxer take Kennedy's place. Ugh.
Steve, I hope and pray some right wing tard tries that with me. I'd rip his nose off his face.
Thanks for the comic relief duckster!!!
