A Friendly Wager -- Year Two

As most of you already know, last year my good friend Daniel and I put a wager on the outcome of Superbowl XLII. We left the wager up to the blog readers here and Brooke came up with the bet that the loser would have to put on their wife's dress and post pictures on the winner's blog. As I KNEW that the NY Giants were going to put a hurtin' on the cheating Patriots I gladly accepted the wager and the terms.

This year we are going to reprise our bet as I am equally convinced that the Arizona Cardinals are going to put the hammer down on the Pittsburgh Steelers (sorry Elbro). Big Ben is going to be chopped down to size and Larry Fitgerald is going to make a mockery of what the Steelers call "defense." So get your "terrible towel" out to wipe up your tears, Daniel. And start picking out a nice dress from your wife's closet. Maybe matching shoes and a beaded necklace this year to really complete your ensemble. Everyone else -- stay tuned. One request. Could someone please put ex-lax in Troy Polamalu's breakfast tomorrow?

Not even that would be enough to allow the Cardinals to score. The Steelers have the most dominating defense since the Iron Curtain of the 70's. After tomorrow, Kurt Warner will be wishing he was still bagging groceries in Cedar Falls, Iowa. You're going down, big man...and big man will look good in a dress.

You might want to paint your fingernails tonight just to be a step ahead tomorrow. You're going to look lovely!!!

But if you lose, and have to put pictures of yourself in a dress on here, aren't you afraid you will inflame the lust and base passions of one of the people who shows up here a lot? The Dull Spoon guy.

Cardies vs Steelers... This is gonna be a close one!

Hermit: You referred to this heretofore unnamed person as, "The Dull Spoon guy." Just shootin from the hip here, but are you referring to ducky? LOL

PF: Redemption, my friend! Redemption is at hand! Tomorrow I will be vindicated! (For some reason, I can faintly here a ZZ Top song playing in the background...) Please involve Kim in the selection of the dress and accessories. She knows how to put an outfit together. :)

No contest. Steelers by 20.

FJ -- you don't have to be a bad sport just because the Ravens got annihilated. Cardinals by 10.

Hermit -- if those pictures would inflame the base lust of anyone all I can say is that they deserve their own twisted mind. It wouldn't be pretty.

nothing says super bowl humiliation like a man wearing a dress

Yes, it was humiliating, but I'm looking to even the score this year. I definately have the edge, since the Cardinals are clearly the underdogs. Just in case, I will do a few extra push-ups tomorrow so I get the extra 'pumped' look if I have to take a picture. :)

It's a beautiful thing watching 2 friends trying to humiliate each other...I won't tell you what the girls in my daughter's Sunday school class said "testosterone" means...

Hopefully we will be Raptured before the great unveiling...

I have some bad news for you, TMW...there is no rapture. Therefore, you will be forced to gaze upon Jason's hairy body stuffed into one of Kim's dresses. don't try to avert your eyes...just take it in.

The Steelers beat the Ravens 3x this past year... so it isn't w/o reason I predict Steelers by 20.

If they get to Fitzgerald long and early it may go the Cardinals way.

It's a longshot though.

Papa Frank said...

Yeah, the Steelers are certainly not foolish enough to leave Fitzgerald near as open as the Eagles did. They didn't have him in double coverage even after he schooled them several times.

The Steelers defensive coordinator says he doesn't like to double-team anybody...ever. I really hope he reconsiders that position.
