A Little Good Among the Dismal

Jack Windolf, the CEO of Bollinger Insurance, recently gave his 434 employees a surprise gift: out of his own pocket, he paid each of them $1000. The bonuses, which Windolf called "a mini economic stimulus package," came from $500,000 in deferred compensation that he received when he sold 51 percent of the company last year. Rather than spend the money on himself, he chose to share it with his workers.

I thought you might like my choice of song there. It really is a beautiful song as well though.

Papa Frank, funny you said that is one of your favorite songs. I sang that on my cd. Not trying to advertise myself, but if you want to give me your email, I can send you the download of the song if you have windows media player.

~~Just a thought, I won't be offended if you don't want to. :D
Have a blessed day! Leslie

Good story. We had a similar incident here.

The widow of a local manufacturer sold the company for millions a few years ago. When she did she split it with the employees. Her take on it was that since they got profit sharing as part of their compensation, they should also get part of the proceeds from the sale even thoguh she had no legal obligation to do so. They are both obvious examples of the evil rich.

Chuck -- The rich are just like the rest of us. Some are good and some are bad and most are shades of each.

Leslie -- I left my email over at your place.

How awesome is this!

Charity, and not forced by big gov't. Who'd have thunk it?

;)

Brooke: great point. How was it possible that a rich guy gave his money away without being forced by the government? I thought all rich people were supposed to be evil and preyed upon those with less...

Papa Frank: Sent.

It's nice to hear something like that, once in awhile. I wish I had a boss like that. Not for the money, but just for the attitude.
