HELP!!! Anyone?!

Dear Midwest Airlines Traveler,

As you've likely heard or read, Midwest Airlines is in the process of restructuring to adapt to extraordinarily high fuel prices. One key part of these efforts is making difficult but necessary changes to our flight schedule.

We're sorry to inform you that Midwest is discontinuing service to some of our markets and reducing frequency in others as of September 8, 2008. Our records show that you currently hold a reservation on a flight to one of these cities on or after the discontinuation date. If you would like Midwest to attempt to reaccommodate you, contact us at 866-613-1390 and reference the same confirmation code. We thank you in advance for your patience when calling, as we're helping a significant number of customers with similar requests.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused by this change.

Has anyone experienced anything like this and have any advice? I've tried the above number for the last 28 hours and is has been busy each and every time. I also found 2 other numbers (one national and one local) for Midwest Airlines and those have also been continually busy leading me to wonder if the phones are off the hook and actually not being answered at all. I purchased these tickets last December for this coming December so as to have everything set way ahead of time and to receive a good rate for booking way early.

We recently flew Southwest & had no problems. Never flew Midwest.

I suggest you roll up the tickets and smoke them.

Seriously, I don't know what to tell you, PF. I don't know if they'll give you a refund or find another airline for you to use.

I flew United to Hawaii and didn't have any problems.

After never being able to get ahold of ANYONE from Midwest Airlines I have put in a request for a full refund. I only got a screen that I could print that said my request would be processed in the order it was received. Not exactly the response I was hoping for. Tickets to Orlando have gone from $291 yesterday on Continental to $548 today. It looks like we will most likely be driving the 1261 miles to Disney World. I guess that's what you get when you think ahead. The best laid plans............

So sorry, Jason.
I'd be doing what the guy in the pic is doing....

I can't believe this! (Okay, with the state of things the way they are, I guess I can...) But, still! I feel so bad for you. I'll pray everything works out for the best and know it will. Maybe this is God's way of protecting you from something? He does that sometimes.

Jason, I think you are out of luck. Midwest is in the hurt locker and I expect they will wind up not honoring your tickets and telling you to file with a bankruptcy court against their assets. I hope I'm wrong.
