Our First Peaches!!!

It's time to take a little break from politics and step back and celebrate life. Today we had a great event take place. We had the privilege of picking our very first peaches from the peach tree we planted two years ago. Our tree, which the girls affectionately named Cherridy, produced 3 peaches this year. Our girls love to see things grow and have learned to enjoy fresh fruits and vegetables. They keep on saying things like, "daddy, I sure wish we had a farm." In the next couple of years we would like to make that wish come true. Then we'll plant a whole little orchard beside our big garden!

Oh how heavenly - your own home grown peaches. I cannot grow my own because I live in an apartment and with the cost of fruit these days I am blessed if I can afford bananas sometimes if they are not over a $1 a pound. I am glad you are so blessed and enjoy! Your wee ones are beautiful!

WEll, that was our own mistake Farmer. We originally thought we had got a cherry tree but we found out later it was a peach tree. By then the name had stuck and they did not wish to change it.

My mom makes a fresh peach pie (meaning not baked) that is to die for. It's so fresh and light! I've got a call to make -- gotta go now!!!

MMmmm. There's nothing better than peaches from your own tree! Your girls look sooo proud. :-)

We have two peach trees, and they didn't produce very well this year. They seem to alternate one year good, one year bad. We picked four or five sack fulls. MMMmmm good eatin'!!!
