Democrat National Convention Kicks Off

It is quite telling to me that the Democrat National Convention kicked off today with a welcome and a prayer that was read from a teleprompter. The democrats want people to think that they are now a party of faith and yet they didn't even have someone there that could pray to start the convention without reading it from a teleprompter. That was followed by an almost completely empty hall for the pledge of allegiance and the national anthem. I guess those two events are not very popular with our friends on the other side of the aisle. However, I guarantee that the hall will be FILLED tonight for the extravaganza of starting the convention with the farthest left branch of the democratic party. Here are the speakers chosen to kick off the Democratic National Convention this evening:
-- Nanci Pelosi
-- Ted Kennedy
-- Jimmy Carter
-- Michelle Obama

I had a Captain who was precisely like the Demorats. Whatever buzzphrase, buzzword, buzzprogram was "in vogue" at the time, that's what he would espouse -- anything to get ahead and appear to be not only a Man of the Peeps but edumacated also. His considered thoughts were as deep as Formica.

The picture is befitting the zoo line up. God help us if those crazy dems take over.

I'd rather watch Teletubbies or Barney while on acid.

Same crap, different year. This is when I just turn off the news.

This is a sad sad night. Someone wake those people up and tell them to stop clapping and waving their anti-freedom flags around. Anyone else torn between laughing and crying?

I went to their site and looked at the schedule. They have a tribute to the troops scheduled for one night. They have the whackjob libs out front bashing them every night.

I heard there's a tribute for Teddy Kennedy scheduled.
Now that's something fresh and new.

not.

How about a tribute to the woman he drowned? What night is that on?

sad, Pops...all I could think about was Mary Jo Kopechne during Kennedy's tribute.
I wondered how he explained what he did to his family to make them forget?
What it would take for the Kopechne family to forget......
I haven't.

Then, I thought "Well, you've gotta hand it to the guy, sick as he is, for coming and speaking.." Then I realized his socialist dream is what matters to him, and I got over the laudatory mood right away.
I hate to sound like a cynic, and I'm sure those people REALLY believe they're doing great things for America. But, maybe that's why I AM in a cynical moood!!

I didn't watch any of it. I'm too old for the stress.

PF: I'm still waiting for that tribute. Or the trial.

Disgusting.

Where was Uncle Teddy's dream of socialized medicine when it was his brain on the line? Um, he found the best doctors in the country for himself. Bad medical treatment is just for us proles.

Wow. I didn't know the Mary Jo Kopechne story at all. It happened 16 years before I was born, but I am shocked to read it for the first time. I pity Kennedy because he has not been punished by man and my God is just.

Tonight they're featuring the "Clintoons"...

I can hardly wait to hear our first black president complain about the DNC's affirmative action program that gave to the nod to a potential 2nd... instead of to a potential first woman president. On second thought, has anybody ever verified whether or not Jimmy Carter was a man....

"The democrats want people to think that they are now a party of faith..."

No they don't. As Mark Warner said, "In five months we'll have president who actually believes in science."

And yet George Bush gave several times more money for science research than your sexual pleasure seeking Bill Clinton. Once again, liberals paying lip service to an idea while Republicans provide actual help and assistance.
