I hate to show my ignorance, but what have they done?
These are the only three Republicans to vote away $789,000,000,000 in the "bipartisan" (what a joke) stimulus (what a bigger joke) bill.
Oh...not good.
Fortunately something can be done about Specter in 2 years.
Tar and feather them ALL!!!!
snow and specter have been rino's forever...collins...well, she is in the right company...
:spit:
tmw
Specter was almost a given.
Frankly I was expecting that these 3 RINOS would pull this one off from the upstart.
they should do us all a favor and make it official.
Yep, they're Republicans when the mood suits them. Otherwise they're Liberals through and through.
WHO BROUGHT THE DARTS?
The only thing I can think of is they benefited from voting yes to the package.
Blessings.
Gotta love the Northeast, eh Papa.
I suspect neocons are afraid to enter New England.

I.H.S, they certainly benefited. Neocons are road kill in New England these days.
Well, good old Arlen has to make amends for his habit of calling people he doesn't like "white niggers." His time in the KKK probably doesn't sit too well today either.
Snow and Collins have always been Democrats in reality. I've never understood why the people of Maine, who tend to be individualistic and self sufficient, continue to return them to office. They must be doing something right on a local level is all I can think of.
They bring home lots of bacon...

I believe you're thinking of Robert Byrd.
I'm curious Frank, what would you have done?
1. Nothing: I don't think that's a good option. This economy is spinning down fast.
2. All Tax cuts: Tax cuts rarely work and I have yet to have anyone answer my question of whether this would just ultimately be a simple government for private debt swap.
Ducky -- I would have allowed the market to adjust itself as has been badly needed. Housing was priced way too high. Cars and trucks were priced way too high. Fuel was way too high. Food was way too high. In part the collapse was a blessing in disguise. To not have a clear cut solution while gambling the future of our children and our grandchildren is the epitome of foolish. Doing nothing would have been a far better option although admittedly not ideal. The market should have been left alone with those who have profited the most standing the risk of losing the most as well. As it is the fat cats have played the government like a fiddle and will ride off into the sunset and allow those younger and hungrier to carve out the future. Where to go from there would be to encourage business in America through lower taxes and to cut taxes for all Americans. At the same time going through the government dollar by dollar and cutting waste while refusing any legislation that had a single dollar worth of pork in it.
These three have long been on my s**tlist. I'm not surprised at their treachery.
Ducky: Wrong. Tax cuts would help the average tax payer immediately.
Whereas pork doesn't help anybody except the pork recipient.
cube, I'm waiting for your next comment on the "nanny" state. Your outrage seems to be selective.
The goal here is not to "help the average taxpayer". The goal is to prevent the economic system from completely seizing.
I see no proof that swapping public debt for private debt without investment that generates growth will be effective.

Way too high? In other words the market failed?
Well yes it did, but that's the nature of bubble economies and now we do have to save capitalism from itself.
I would also suggest that in order to avoid the socialism you dread so much you should not be so antagonistic to Keynesian spending. I think that's the right's best hope, frankly.
As for hurting the guys who aught to get hurt, that rarely happens. DAS KAPITAL takes the profit, workers take the expenses whether that be the shock of a housing bubble collapse, the cost of an imperialist war or the cost of commodities speculation --- you pay thru the nose.
At the same time going through the government dollar by dollar and cutting waste

Problem is that the largest cuts would be to your precious defense department.
Damn me if you aren't right, Ducky. It was Byrd.
But I still detest Spectre!
